Position Summary

The NOC Specialist will be considered a Specialized Expert, possessing an in-depth knowledge of specific technologies and systems. Handle the most challenging and critical incidents. Collaboration with network engineers and expert knowledge of how to troubleshoot issues correctly. Requires a high level of support and specialized skills in troubleshooting and resolving complex network issues. NOC Specialist will be the last escalation point before it is pushed through to network engineers. NOC Specialist will be the bridge point between the NOC and Network engineers, providing new and improved troubleshooting techniques to improve MTTR and overall health of the network, Analyze network traffic and performance metrics. Optimize network configurations for performance and scalability.

Position Responsibilities

  • Advanced Troubleshooting: Resolve the most complex network issues escalated from Tier 1 and Tier 2 technicians. 
  • Network Optimization: Analyze network performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance network efficiency and reliability. 
  • Incident Management: Lead the response to major network incidents, coordinating with various teams to ensure rapid resolution and minimal impact on operations. 
  • System Maintenance: Oversee and perform advanced maintenance tasks, including firmware updates, hardware replacements, and configuration changes. 
  • Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to Tier 1 and Tier 2 technicians, helping them develop their skills and knowledge. 
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, changes, and incident resolutions. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with network engineers, architects, and other IT professionals to design and implement network improvements and new technologies. 

 Experience/Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus. 
  • Experience: 4-6 years of experience in a NOC or similar environment, with a focus on advanced network troubleshooting and support. 
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CCNP, JNCP, CCIE or equivalent are highly desirable. 
  • Skills: Extensive knowledge of network protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS). 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. 
  • Proficiency with network monitoring tools and ticketing systems. 

 Work Environment: 

  •  This position may require shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to ensure 24/7 network monitoring and support.

Additional information

Fatbeam requires a background check and the acceptance of a basic non-compete documents for all employees. The background check takes 3-5 days. This offer would be pending upon the results of the background check.
